"Maschinenfest 2007" - Black Mag translated.

Third Day: Sunday, October 14th, 2007. Veggie chilli and fried rice.

There were several interviews to make as well as conversations to hold on the last day and therefore I cannot report on the major part of the line-up from my own experience. The day's opening act, EVA|3, convinced the audience with its dancable oldschool industrial that did not shrink from quoting its own roots! EVA|3 started the set with a cover version of “Discipline” by THROBBING GRISTLE, and the survivors of the evening before were thrilled from the very first minute. When appearing on stage again for the last few songs, to add a human, manic element to the machine sound, it became apparent how much a gig can be graded up by by a real performance. With raw energy Emily threw herself into the show and that energy, the hysteria and the undamped spontaneity of her performance remind of the existential despair with which the industrial culture formed up once to fathom the shallows of the conditio humana, to make them audible and tangible. And then, when ASCHE joined the two to support them at the controllers for an homage to “Warm Leatherette” by THE NORMAL, one could get the impression to listen to a “real” band, and the impression intensified to witness the first steps of a project that is going to have a great future. (Refer also to the interview with EVA|3 in the present issue)
